AtoZ Fabrication Rockers - pics! :D

Alright, so the big brown truck arrived today and dropped off my rocker guards that I won here on JF, courtesy of Zach from A to Z.

I wanted to go ahead and show off some pics of them, as well as give a little review. I'll update this as I get them installed (maybe in a week or so).

Here's some pics (sorry about the blur, camera sucks in low light. I'll get better pics when they're installed).

My initial thoughts are that these are beefy. It was a workout hauling the box inside the house. Each rocker weighs around 25 lbs.

They look good too. The center logo cutout plate will make a nice step, support area for the tube, and adds a nice touch.

The welds look good too. Nothing sloppy, and the surface is clean.

The powder coating really got me. It's even, and for black, almost has a mirror finish too it. It'll suck to mess that up wheeling.

As for hardware, again, I'm liking it. No cheap bolts. The bolts are stainless steel and even though bolts aren't a big deal, they did add to the nice setup.

The only thing thus far that I'm not crazy about is that on '03 and newer models, you have to cut a 1" hole into the body so you can reach a bolt. On both sides. Anyone know where it's at? I can't tell by the picture.

I just had to post up some shots of the new gear. I'm excited, and thus far am thoroughly impressed with AtoZ. The quality looks great, and working with Zach has been a nice, pain free experience.

I'll get more pictures when I get things on.

-Brandon

Congratulations, those look nice. A 1" hole is not that bad.......now when i had to cut the 4 1/2 " hole for my tail lights that was a big hole. There aint nothing to it but to do it. After you drill the first one the rest will not be that bad. Good luck and post the after pics.

Looks good... I have a set of Zach's finest Rockers from a couple years ago... I can say that the name plate thing on the new ones would turn me off... I'm all for Zach doing the advertising thing, but I don't want to look at it every time I step out of my rig... To each thier own.. but the "Beef" appears to still be there, and the quality looks just as AWESOME as always...

Hey Zach, where is my check for using my jeep pic on your website for so long,...didn't we talk about a commission maybe a set of internal braces (well, you used too, It looks like a new Yellow Jeep with the updated units is up there now)...

You know, I'm with you in that I don't like advertising on products. In fact, I hate it. I bought a product, why should I then advertise for you?

You know, that sort of thing.

However, I like the way AtoZ did it. You have to be getting into the jeep to see it. I'll know about it, and friends, but I'm not a driving billboard so it won't bother me. It's discreet.

Plus, it'll make a good 'sharp' point to kick mud and snow off of my shoes.

I dont know were the hole is suppose to be but I do recall seeing them on some older ones near the front of the rocker (towards the front of the jeep) but I do not know the exact location. Good luck and let me know how long the install took and how hard it was. This is going to be my next step.

Depends on the options. Anywhere from $225 to $390.

This is the best picture I could take with my phone this morning. I ended up drilling my first hole to high and had to drill a second...lol The hole is by the seatbelt mechanism, as this picture is on the passenger side.

Hope this helps.

just put a set of these on my 05. easy to put on. you will find out where the hole needs to be drilled as you drill all your mounting holes. it is on the last hole toward the back of the jeep. if you use a 1" hole saw you can pick up a couple of plugs from lowe's, home depot, etc to fill the hole. i will try to get a pic up later.

I may also pick up a set of these rockers in the near future. It's between these and the Rokmen rockers for me.

I agree with previous statements about the step. I'd rather have the side gussets there than a logo.

I had to do the same thing on my '97 so it's not just on the newer Jeeps.

you drill into the little sheet metal bubble right by the bracket. as u can see

what about the bolts that come up from the bottom??? those don't come up through the bubble? so its just the rear side bolt to drill an acess hole for?

It's been a few years since I installed mine, but an alternative would be to use a nutstick and pass it through the hole under the rear flare. That's how my Rokmens installed. Not sure if you could do that with the AtoZs, but I thought I would mention it.

One of these days I'll buy a cage from Zach
