OK, sorry it took so long to get these posted. Here's a pic from the front with one flare on and one off:

Also, for those with the 42RLE transmission, your Transmission Control Module sits between the Vacuum module and the windshield washer tank. It's easy to get two mount points on everything EXCEPT the TCM. So I went to Ace Hardware and did this:

Pic of brackets:

There's about 5/8" of space between the bracket and the fender:

Got a 1/2" spacer and longer bolt:

And ended up with this:

Easy fix!

Great pics Glynn!

We will be updating the installation methods for those with the Control Module, but in the meantime, fixes like the one you did are great. We've seen other options as well, and one of the reasons we created the inner fender well out of aluminum so you can easily drill or modify any holes you need for your stock or aftermarket equipment.

Great build! That's a good looking Jeep!

OK, here's a little way to have some fun with the access panels...

I left the Metalcloak sticker on the passenger side.

Even with the flares on, plenty of clearance for the bottle too!!!

Yeah! They allow a little more mud to be thrown. My old bushwackers let some mud spray into the cab too. I normally try to take it easy with the mud. But some of the trails I run you just can't avoid it.

Hey no problem on the time, that looks amazing! I'm very upset it doesn't look like I am going to have the funds to do anything to my Jeep before I ship to Basic but I am undoubtedly going to make these fenders my first purchase.

I was running 6" flares with 31x10.5 tires and I could still cover my Jeep in mud, I just don't think it matters.....your gonna get muddy.

Thats the way I see it. I just try to avoid the deep stuff. It really screws things up. I tried washing the jeep today. The coal mud here in pa stains the piant. It takes a lot of work to get it off after it drys.

The best use of the access panels I've seen yet! I think we might just have to do a contest around creative uses of the access panel... details to follow!

Metalcloak has THE best customer service in the industry. I have dealt with many of the various jeep companies, but these guys (Doug especially) go above and beyond. I would not hesitate to order anything from these guys again. A+ service, and some sick products to boot.
Hi, nice looking Jeep. I'm seriously thinking of taking out my RE 4.5" coils and getting either some OME 2.5's like you, or maybe Teraflex 3" coils. And then see about the shocks later.
Anyways, my question is, how much body lift do you have there? And do you have more pics of your jeep, as it sounds like we're gonna have a very simular set up. And how do you like your OME coils....and shocks I'm assuming too?

Thanks,

Kris

Thanks.
I love my OME coils, I wish I had more clearance. I like the LCOG but it isn't the cat's meow. I'm not a huge fan of the shocks, I liked my RE monotubes better. I'm gonna switch these to some fox or Walker Evans shocks this summer when I get some more $$$
I have 1.25 bodylift. I don't have any more pictures of the jeep, I'm 1500 miles away right now. I'll snag some next time I get home.

Thanks for the fast reply. That's exactly the kinda feedback I was after, thanks a lot. I do have RE monotubes right now, only about a year old so I was hoping to keep them. So, I'm just trying to figure out for sure which coils I'll go with, either the OME's, or the slightly taller 3" Teraflex's wich I hear great things about too.
And I think I'm gonna see how I do with the monotubes if I can keep them or not. I'm thinking that I'm gonna go with a TeraFlex Rear Upper Shock Adapter & Relocator Kit and maybe a Clayton lower shock conversion kit. Maybe with that my shocks won't be too long, in the rear anyways. And I'll probably hold onto my extra set of front coil isolators to bump the front up an additional 7/8" if I need.

Wow, we sure have very similar setup Jeeps, and soon, maybe even more similar.

Not trying to hijack this thread at all, just using it to help with my decision to invest in these fenders....a big part of the decision is based on making these other decisions. I'm really looking forward to making my Jeep more drivable on the road and feel better on the trail.

Thanks again for the great info, and especially for getting back to me when so far away from home

here are some links if anyone's interested in what I was talking about. Feel free to chime in if anyone here has used them.
