ARB Safari Snorkel with A/C ?

Hello.

The Quadratec.com part description of the "ARB Safari Snorkel" says:
"Modifications to the stock air box are needed to use this kit with Air Conditioning."

What exactly does that mean? What has to be modified?
Do you have a manual or a write-up (with pics) where I can see what i would have to change at the air box?
Do I need some more parts for these changes?

Please help me, I΄d like to order the parts as fast as possible.

Thanks in advance.

It looks like you have a 2006, so I'd call ARB and ask.

We installed one on a 1999 with AC. This article covers the install, and has ARB contact info at the end of the article...

ARB has a snorkel for the 97/98 TJ and another one for the 99-06 TJ.
on the pics in your write-up it looks exactly like my air box and batterie mount.
did all needed parts come with your ARB snorkel?
how long did you need to install it? it doesn΄t look like an easy "bolt-on" install to me...

Everything that was needed (except for the caulk that we used to make everything extra secure) was included. If you have questions about your specific year, I'd give ARB a call at the number at the end of the article. I don't know if there were AC changes after our model year.

It only took a couple of hours to install - and remember that this included photo time, etc. It was not difficult, but you need to be comfortable with drilling a 3" hole in the side of your Jeep, and should have a moto-tool to cut the airbox opening.

Again, I'd call ARB and double check with them.

I have the ARB Safari Snorkle on a 2005 LJ with A/C. Just order the 99/06 part number.

To install the snorkle, you will have to enlarge the holes in the stock battery tray mount and modify the airbox. To modify the airbox you remove the horn and install a block off plate that comes in the kit. Then you cut a hole in the left rear of the airbox to install the new air horn attachment for the tube between the snorkle body and the airbox.

You do not need any other parts other than the snorkle kit.

I recommend that you have RTV Black to seal the airbox mods, screw holes in the bottom of the airbox and the connections at both ends of the hose. Have a Dremel tool for cutting the new hole in the airbox and enlarging the holes in the battery tray mount. Have a drill and a hole saw for installing the snorkle body to the side of the Jeep. This mod looks alot harder than it is.......
