Anyone mod the A/C with its own switch?

I would like to be able to turn off A/C but keep fan on and the circulate in cab setting.

All other vehicles I have driven in my life are like that....in the jeep if you switch it to the a/c off mode but with fan it switches to fresh air mode...Thus gets hot faster.

I think Im coming across right with my words..

Any ideas?

Knucklehead did it. Search his threads and you'll find it.

Post up when you find it, sounds like a good idea.

I did mine. Works great. I think I might have used Knucklehead's writeup as inspiration.

It looks like if you put a switch in the light blue/orange wire coming of the 3 wire connector on the mode switch you should be able to keep the compressor off when in the recirculation (or any other) position.

Sweet , thanks , thats the plan spam.....will hit the hardware store and find a good switch...

So If im reading this right....all Im doing is installing a swith in between one wire...cut the bugger , stick it in between and mount...

sounds to easy...this is gonna help alot....being able to keep the cab air in circulation mode and be able to turn off the A/C and keep fans going...its how it should be done...

Thanks I just checked the site...good info
