anyone have any issues replacing an exhaust manifold

I have a bad crack in my exhaust manifold and I'm planning to buy the cheapo manifold off of ebay and do the job myself.

Anyone run into any problems? My fear is turning 11 year old rusty bolts. Just want to know what to look out for. I have a 4.0L by the way.

Thanks

When I did my last manifold all I did was get a mapp gas kit, with the O2 tank, from lowes, home depot etc, and heat the nuts until they were red. Came right off without any breakage.

I just did my entire exhaust from the manifold back two weeks ago. I got the manifold off EBay for about $76, got the downpipe and converter from rockauto.com for about $150 and got the muffler and tailpipe from rockauto for about $140 (plus they have a rebate for $75)

In all it took about 4 hours with two of us.

I replaced my 98's exhaust manifold with the Ebay cheapo with accordian joints for $70.It came with the gasket too and worked fine. After that,I bought the Magnaflow direct fit cat with downpipe for $140 and a Flowmaster 40 and tailpipe for $130.

Had trouble with the #5 exhaust leaking into the #6 intake w/ the cheapo manifold off of ebay. Replaced the provided gasket with on from the dealer and torqued down that bolt first. I think it still has a leak, but not bad enough to cause the check engine light to come back on... Just FYI. Might save yourself having to install it twice by using a OEM gasket.
