Anyone with a Grenade gear shift knob??
I just picked up a disarmed one, pineapple type, and was wondering how to make it work for my automatic (ie- release button, etc) Any input would be great, and maybe pics of how it looks installed.
Thanks,
Steve Pingel

I got one...
Pull up on the "T" part of the shifter. It will come off and you will see a white plastic "button" that gets pushed down when you want to shift. Take a (enter your favorite rotary tool here I used my Dremel) and a tungsten bit and start opening up the bottom of the grenade. Two hours later... Open just wide enough to fit over the "stick," Step on the Brake, Push down and shift away

Sometimes the things that may or may not be true are the things a man needs to believe in the most. That people are basically good; that honor, courage, and virtue mean everything; that power and money mean nothing; that good always triumphs over evil, that true love never dies. Doesn't matter if it's true or not. You see, a man should believe in those things, because those are the things worth believing in.

Is the arm for pressing down on the grenade functional?
I want a new knob (I have a manual though) and am looking for ideas. I'd LOVE to be able to incorporate my hand throttle, or its functionality, with a knob and wonder if the grenade grip would work for that...

Keep moving forward. But keep an eye on history, for if you don't, you are doomed to repeat it.

The arm would be functiona with a small spring from a hardware store... I think it would be a pain, but I'm sure it could work. I think it would be cool to have that arm as the safety catch to shift, but it would be tough to fabricate to make it work.

q-tec has "authentic wwII" gear shift stick grenades...
FOR FORTY-FIVE DOLLARS
Granted, it looks nice. But thats a lot of cash for something that just looks good.
I guess if it's what you want...go for it. I have other plans for 45 dollars

Thats why I bought the one I bought...... 45 is a rip off for little more than a $3.00 grenade with a hole drilled in it.

so the "T" part on the auto just pulls right off? I have tried and it seemed like it didn't want to budge.

It really does just pull off... just keep pulling hard(insert dirty joke here... ) you gotta pull straight up from the verticle part.

have you bought the new little red piece?
my wife's is busted, but the dealership said you had to buy the whole setup (the whole piece where the gears are listed, etc) and wanted $40-$60...can't remember exactly...
so, she's driven it for 18 months without the little red indicator...

I just wanted to confirm that you do indeed just pull the t-handle off, it's a little tough but all of the sudden it just pops off.
