Anybody move turn signals to grill?

I was lloking for any pics of this completed project. Also what you/they did with the original light holes, in the fender. I like the old CJ look. I've found plenty of 2.5" LED amber turns on ebay I can use. I think 4" is too big plus I could always bump up to 4" if I wanted but never the other way around. Thanks in advance.

Just be sure that the lights you buy are three-wire models as is there now or you'll have turn-signal problems if you go with an old-style CJ light that only has two wires.

Rather then using the wiring from the rectangular shaped signals on the
front of the fender that has 3 wires, can't you just instead use the wiring
that goes to the side signals in the fender flare that has two wires for a
CJ type light or other that has two wires only?

Don't the side lights have three wires too? I've had mine out 5-6 times and seem to recall they function as side markers and turn-signals too so if that's true, they have 3 wires too.

Gunnys TJ used 2 wire lights on his TJ after doing flat fenders and though he's pretty good with figuring out stuff like that, he can't make his work right with the 2 wire lights.

My curiosity drove me to go outside and look at the wiring. The
lights on the side do in fact have 3 wires, at first glance it looks
like two, I pulled apart some of the plastic shielding a little farther
down the wiring harness and saw the 3rd wire, so once again Jerry's
right

I've heard a few times i believe that you can use the standard wiring as it has enough slack to use that wiring with new lights.

How did you cut the hole for the lights?

I'd assume a giant hole saw? iirc they're 3" lights.

how did you figure out what would look 'right' as far as placement for them goes?

You could use a fly-cutter.
