sway loc in the rear

Has anyone used the Sway Loc in the rear? I will be doing a 4 link and stretch and was considering the Antirock as they offer customizable bars and arms. But i have the SwayLoc up front and it's great.

Any comments on SwayLoc for rear application??

Thanks

I was planning on the antirock as my next year's mod, but after reading this looks like the sway lock it is. Since it's my DD and I will be driving about 60 or 70 miles for work every day.

Yes, its street mode is slightly stiffer than the OE antiswaybar. I drive my TJ on the street enough that if I had the $$$ (it's Christmas time) I'd convert my Antirock to a Swayloc which is the best of both worlds.

It has to be considerably stiffer because the arms are much longer. If the rate was the same as the stock bar, it wouldn't be as effective controlling body roll if you put longer arms on it.

So yes, it is stiffer than stock even with the longer arms.

The rear doesn't need as stiff of a rate so the universal 44" bar from Currie coupled with the SwayLoc in the front is an awesome combination. I've done several and the handling is amazing.

I meant "effective" stiffness as far as controlling body roll more than stock.

I have never run, or seen anyone run, the Swayloc.

One bonus for the Antirock is that there are no "moving" parts (ie nothing to engage/disengage) so there is no chance of a malfunction and less parts to break. I'm not saying you can't break an Antirock, you can break the arms, links, and the torsion bar (just like anything else on your Jeep).

I have the Antirock and highly recommend it.
I have it and love it. It does keep the body level because it works with the rear sway bar. I leave it in one position and can drive my Jeep on the roads, although it does sway but I'm used to it and I don't drive the rig fast.

Very little sway with mine. I feel very comfortable with the SwayLoc on-road and off-road there is a ton more control (more stable).

I would not feel concerned with a family member, etc. driving my jeep with the SwayLoc - road manners are perfect!

from their site...

Quote:
SwayLOC SR™ is a single rate version of our proven SwayLOC product. With the 1.25” solid torsion bar, the on road rate is firmer than the stock anti-swaybar, and when you disconnect, the passenger side arm freewheels with no resistance, delivering the full flex of being fully disconnected.
If the passenger side free wheels, how does it give resistance? How does that give more stability offroad?

it doesn't. It's just like using old fashioned disco. but on road with it connected it's stiffer than stock.

Disco'ing one side is as good as disco'ing both sides since either side disco'd removes the antiswaybar effect from both sides of the axle, not just one side.
