>> What do you like about the Swayloc that you would spend so much more for? Just curious, because I am also toying with the idea of going with an Antirock, or maybe a Swayloc.

You get a stiffer setting for on-road driving so you don't give up the on-road stability that you lose with a soft swaybar like the Antirock. In fact, the guy that designed it has said that it's actually a bit stiffer than the OEM bar to compensate for the added weight/height of a lifted rig.

I've had the Antirock for 2 years now and it's been a great mod to have. Some will say that they feel a bit of body sway on the road but it's a Jeep and not a sports car but in reality it's not that bad as I have it on the loosest setting. Off-road it's been great in terms of adding more articulation but you can get more with disconnects. The thing that sold me on the AR rather than disconnects is that at the end of the day (esp after muddin') the last thing I want to do is climb under my rig and re-connect the links. I haven't heard too much about the Swaylock but it does look like a pretty good product and you'd get the best of both worlds but you'd have to pay extra.

Don't have experience with the Swayloc but I have run the Currie AntiRock for about 2 years now. I've run the stock bar un-lifted, the stock bar lifted with discos, and the AntiRock with both short arm and long arm lifts.
I'm sold on the AntiRock, hands down. I have it set on the lightest setting (hole furthest back). This may not be for everyone as there is body roll on the highway but it's a real smooth ride and I don't drive it like a Porsche. It's great to not have to mess with discos anymore, on or off. The ride if far superior on road and off and I don't think I've lost any articulation (nothing that matters anyway).

After seeing the Swayloc in "action" on a club members rig, I think that's the way I'm leaning...Although probably come after the Vanco Big Brakes and Currie HD Steering setup since the RE Gen2 Disco's I have work fine, just would like to convenience of just the flip of a lever or switch to engage/disengage. I love my antirock, i have had it since my lift was on the jeep, i comute to school everyday, i also drive plenty of miles to and from my apt to home and it was a great addition to my jeep. I have no cons to say about it since i like mine so much.

Disconnected = Articulation
Antirock = Articulation + Traction + Less Body Roll I have never run, or seen anyone run, the Swayloc. One bonus for the Antirock is that there are no "moving" parts (ie nothing to engage/disengage) so there is no chance of a malfunction and less parts to break. I'm not saying you can't break an Antirock, you can break the arms, links, and the torsion bar (just like anything else on your Jeep). I have the Antirock and highly recommend it. |

I never drove mine like a Porsche. The tough part was sometimes avoiding other drivers who thought they could drive their vehicle like a Porsche (but didn't do too well at it). As much as I liked the Antirock, I was completely sold on the SwayLOC once I put it on. There was simply no comparison in regards to on-road handling. Off-road, the two worked equally well. |
