Alloy Axle seals - Opinions

Does anyone run these or know someone that does? If so, how do they work and are they worth $100? Even if you don't run them but have toyed around with your D30 or D44 front, do you think they would be worth while?

After rebuilding the front end on my '04 of the last 2 weeks, I wish I had them. Tons of crud in my axle tubes. If I wasn't in a hurry to get everything back together I would have ordered a set and installed them. The next time I need to pull my hubs for something I will be installing a set.

Have them, work well, anything is going to be a huge improvement over the factory shield, think I paid $60 for the first generation ones.

If you wheel in deep mud I can see they'd be worth their weight in gold. In my dry dusty wheeling conditions, I haven't yet seen the need.

i do most of my wheeling in rocks in nepa, had small stones in the tubes, i don't like the mud...just causes breakdowns and early deaths. they also keep sand out

The cheapest I've seen so far is $75 for superior ones from Northridge. I'm seriously thinking about it because I do alot of water and mud then again, how is the water/mud inside the tube any differnt than water/mud inside the frame? I haven't seen the tube caked enough to affect the axle shaft.

I have them, found them for $60 and put them in while swapping in a different D30. They seem fine, I guess. No problems so far.

helps keep the water out, and it will help keep the inner seal from getting ruined.
when i went to intstall them took about a 1/2 pound of mud and tiny stones out of the tube.

While I don't wheel in mud (I do a water crossing to and from several of my favorite trails but it is a flowing stream/river, not a mud hole), I've found more than enough "junk" in the axle tubes after pulling the shafts out.

What I don't like is the fact that this same dirt and sand can/does get on the shaft as you slide it back into the tube. I do my best to keep the spline end from scooting along the bottom of the tube. On the driver's side, that is fairly easy to control given its short length. On the passenger side it is much more difficult to keep the shaft off the bottom of the tube prior to it going into the axle seal on the center section.

I have a set to go in....next time I pull the axle shafts....which is hopefully in a week or two....else they will just go in.

I haven't heard anything bad, so I'll be getting a set soon. I've got a front axle seal leaking, so I'm going to put them in when I fix that.

If You're in a hurry , Qtec has them . Although they want $ 130 per pair !
Which is crazy since they had them marked down to $ 60 at the Jeep show in july

EDIT : I just called Quadratec . They want $ 89.99 per pair of the Alloy USA brand .
Why they want so much more for the Superior Brand seals is beyond me .

Save the shipping cost and head down the turnpike .
