Airbag Light Stays On 2002 TJ

I have a 02 Wrangler 4.0. Runs perfectly, but my airbag light stays on constantly. It comes on at start and does not go off. I have the key lock to turn the passenger side off, and have tried to switch it from on and off with no luck regarding the light on the dash. I know its not the clockwork because everything on the steering wheel works, the horn, cruise controls, etc. The light randomly came on going down the road on a typical drive and has stayed on since.

Soo, the fix.. my guess is a bad ground or short somewhere. The jeep's never been wrecked to deploy the bags. I am not so much worried about having airbags as getting the pesky light off my dash. Wouldnt want to get out on a trail, hit a rock, and get a broke nose from a faulty airbag.

Just questioning to see if anyone has came about this problem before and could shoot me some help or give me a place to start. Im very familiar with working under the hood, but know absolutely nothing about airbag systems. I would appreciate the help

If you do search there are plenty of threads on turning the light off. It's a pretty common issue when people do axle swaps. Short answer is it varies from year to year as to how to get the light off. IIRC older TJs all you had to do was pull one or two fuses in the PDC. With newer TJs it gets more complicated. With the search you should find more detailed walkthroughs involving pulling multiple fuses, disconnecting control module, etc. Or you will also find threads where people just open the dash and break the bulb off.
