Hey guys, after fixing some problems to try and get my jeep inspection ready, I'm down to my last problem. About a month ago I took my interior completely apart to spray in my raptor liner. When I took the front console section out I disconnected the wiring harness that connects to the passenger airbag disable switch. Now after reconnecting the harness my airbag light has been on, and I cant seem to get it to go off. I have cleaned the harness with contact cleaner, I have checked both fuses and no matter what I do I cant get the light to turn off. Today when I was working on the harness I noticed there is another small circular connection beside the main airbag harness, does anyone know if this is supposed to be connected to something, or is this an aftermarket part that was put on by the previous owner. I'm going to try and get a picture up to show you guys what im talking about but in the mean time, has anyone else had this problem before?

I have one of those two that isn't plugged into anything... My airbag light is also on, but I'm pretty sure it's cause the clockspring is broke due to the hydro steering. I have even pulled both fuses out for the airbags. Next on the list is pulling the physical airbag out, change out the steering wheel and pull the light bulb/cover it with tape if it's still lit.
I'm probably going the other direction than you are though, just wanted to add that I also have that plug, so it must be factory.

Did you disconnect the battery before you unplugged that harness?
Did you pull the steering colum?
Read the codes and see what is up at this point.

I've had mine on a code reader, a really nice one at that and it gave no clue what was up with the airbags. I'm guessing a star scan tool is what is needed for that.

No, the battery was still connected when the harness was pulled and the steering column was never removed. I have disconnected the battery since then, but the light did not turn off. And as for codes, the jeep is not showing any codes through the odometer, and the scanner that autozone hooked up showed nothing with the airbag it only showed problems with the EVAP system, but I have already resolved those problems. Is there anything else I can try?

A scanner that can read the air bag codes is what you need. Anytime you disconnect the airbags from any connector you need to disconnect the battery & wait several minutes.
