Airaid and throttle body spacer?

How do you guys feel about an airaid cold air intake system and throttle body spacer? Any misconceptions I should be weary about?

Won't do much for the I6 to be honest with you. The programmer I purchased only put me a shade over 200HP and it's not that much of a difference. Plenty of guys I know have gone back to a stock paper-element air filter as well (from aftermarket filters) cause they weren't happy with the alteration.. Cold air intakes and TBS don't do much... Don't waste your $$$. Instead re-gear and you'll notice much more of a difference..

I've got the K&N intake, its ok. nothing spectacular. Only time i feel a difference is when merging or passing on the highway. i got it cheap, so i figured why not.

the tb spacer is relatively worthless

He is talking about spending maybe 200-300 on these stuff. Re-gearing will cost upwords of 700-1000. Plus re-gearing is pointless if he is still on stock tires.

Well if you have 32s then regearing to 4.10 would prove worthwhile.

BTW, 3" BL??

The spacer is worthless.

The Airaid intake is okay. I believe it has a reusable filter. I'd trade my crappy K&N filter in for one if I had some spare cash lying around.

Neither one will do anything for you except make your air intake a little louder. Like putting a playing card in your bicycle spokes, it may make you feel faster.

what about adding the spacer with Bored Out Throttle Body from jeepers and creepers? http://www.jeepersandcreepers.com/client/Products.php?prokey=261 looking at getting some goodies for christmas. And maybe a chip.

give up on it - no cheap power gains will be achieved ..................none, nothing, nada, zilch, the big zero

Stroker, supercharge, turbo charge or engine swap are about the only options for "real" power gains but none of those are cheap. DOnt waste your money

I have the Airraid as well, and to be honest, I don't like it. Yeah, it's got a reusable filter, but that's about it. You won't notice any power changes, it'll be a touch louder if you gas it, and you'll be more prone to suck in water (if you're in that deep). Save your money for a mod that will actually do something worthwhile. My saving grace is that I didn't pay for it- it was already on it when I bought the Jeep.

I've got a K&N on mine just so I can remove, clean/oil and keep going. I guess just tired of buying the paper filters. As for power gain, forget it, it's all in your mind. Cold air? who are they kidding...by the time the air gets to the engine it's just as hot. For a jeep all this cold air intake and spacer bull is a waste of $$$'s
