airaid spacer

i bought an airaid spacer . . yes, i know it is a 'waste' of money, but for $25, it wasn't a bad deal. . . the only problem is, after i sent out the money, i realized that it is for a 2.5L engine and not a 4.0L engine. i have the latter in a 2001 TJ, and was wondering what would happen if i put it on my Jeep. the 2.5L spacer is bored out to 47mm and the 4.0L to 50mm, so i think it would restrict airflow, but by how much? does anybody know what predicaments i may get myself into by installing this? thankyou!

Sell it on Ebay.

Installing this would be even worse than installing a properly fitted one.

You could bore it out to match your 4.0 TB size, but it would be a waste of time. I had a TB spacer on for about 3 weeks before I took it off and gave it to someone else to try.

By the way, throttle body spacers came out since similar risers work so well under carburetors... but they really don't do much, if anything at all, for a fuel inected engine.

Nothing good will happen. That's for sure.

You said it yourself first. Using the 2.5 TBS on a 4.0 will create a bottleneck in your intake and will restrict air flow.

I also dont think those airaid spacers are going to do anything (except add space).
what about putting a 4.0l throttle body on a 2.5l. I hear that really works good. Do you guys know?
