Advice needed on which 1” body lift.

I’m going to add a one inch body lit to help with clearance of the 241OR transfer case and home made belly up slid plate I have been working on. Is there any brand that is better than other?

I can see there are 2 choices really. One a hard block type lift like this.

And the other a poly kind like this..

I just wondered what the pro’s and con’s are for each kind.

Thanks
Dave

Sounds good.. is there any reason to spend the extra on the polly bushing vs what seems to be a hard spacer to go along with my existing bushings?

I've overwhelmingly ben told the JKS BL is tough to beat, it is a spacer lift that keeps your factory rubber mounts in place. Some don't like the "look" of the spacer type lift saying it is not as "clean" looking I guess, but all in all it has great reviews and great support. I'm getting one this month along with there MML.

The jks 1.25'' is a clean looking kit when its on the jeep. The poly lift blocks have a flange that hangs down over the original bushing and makes it look seamless.

so just so i have this right in my mind.....

the JKS and the PA are using a spacer that is added to the existing bushing and the energy one is a all new set of bushings that happen to be one in higher?

Thanks
Dave

A BL is a BL unless you get a 3" one.

To my understanding, this is correct. I think the energy ends up being alot more expensive and I dont know if you get a t-case lever correction bracket with the kit?

However, if you are doing a belly up at the same time then you wont need the t-case drop down bracket anyways. It is a possibility that you will need a bracket like the one advance adapters, skyjacker, or novak(this would be my choice) makes that makes the t-case lever operate independent from the body tub.

The jks is a complete kit with everything you need, hardware, brackets, ect.

i have the daystar 1" lift that replaces the original body mounts, it wasnt that much more exspensive, and it was incredibly easy to install. it does come with a tcase bracket. if you dont think you are gonna need new body mounts in the next few years the cheaper spacers are just fine. i replaced mine 2 years ago and my original mounts were like new still;however, a bad experience changing the mounts/and bl install on a yj made me do a all in one swap.

Ok thanks that clears it up for me. My body mounts are a little on the beat up side from 10 years here in the desert so i think I'll go with the energy star kit.

I am not worried about the shifter linkage as with the belly up its so high right now its hitting the tub, if anything this may give me the room i need under there.

Thanks for the info..

Dave

the new nubs/bumper for under the grill are a pita to put in, the best way is to put grease on them and put them in the best you can and the let the weight of the vehicle do the rest of the work as you tighten everything up.
