What trans is going in? Why not keep it stick?

CTM's have a great rep for holding up... one of the guys I wheel with has them in his 44 front on a bronco, he love's them

Good luck with the project - I too have been waiting to see the finished product

I will use the 5spd auto trans from the Durango, there really is not a good option for the 5spd manual other than the nv4500 and from what I have gleened from several sources it is a sloppy shifting, very heavy piece. it would take a lot of work to use it since there really is no hemi/nv4500 combo to get parts from. there is not a lot of room in a short wheel base tj to fool around with adapters so the any trans needs shafts have to be correct spline and the trans has to bolt to the hemi bell. I imagine this is the reason AEV doesnt offer a stick either.

Also, I do a lot of street driving and here in Florida where the lights are frequent and always red, I just cant take the stick shift anymore......

I planned on CTM's unless I hear of of something better before the stockers explode....

thanx, I will post pics as they are available. tonight I was doing tool inventory, looks like a trip to sears is in my near future.

For some time now I've been daydreaming of a V8 swap. But this weekend on some trails I once again had to appreciate the I-6. Great trail motor. Then you go and bring up the V8 thing again....

pretty boring stuff so far. I had to remove the rack to get it in the garage. then I started removing under hood stuff. battery, air cleaner, struts, washer tank, overflow, radiator and shroud, head lights for access to the fender bolts. I stopped because I am unsure about the r34 charge. how do I get this depressurized? I am guessing now that I should have taken it somewhere before I dismantled it. anyone in north tampa with AC equipment?

Can you close the garage door then lay the hood all the way back and then put the garage door back up, I have to do this with my top if I'm not parked just right.

Oh yeah, and hurry up, I want to see the finished product!
