AC/HEATER blower not working on top 2 speeds
I have a 2001 Jeep Wrangler that the 2 highest speeds are not working on the AC/HEATER Blower fan. Everything works fine on the 2 lower speeds in all settings. I checked all fuses and they OK both under the hood and under the dash. I replaced the "Blower Sensor" (even though the old one was ok, the Dealer would not refund) under the dash behind the glove box in the air duct. It has the little wire coils that heat up and turn red when in operation and that did not fix it. I even ran the AC for a second with the sensor out to make sure all coils were heating up like they are suppose too. The only 2 options that I know of left are the control switch in the dash that you change the fan speed, which is a dealer only item and the blower motor itself which I can get for about $120 new online. Does anyone have any ideals which one to replace next or something different?
Thanks for your help, Walt

Look at connector C1 on you heater control panel. The problem should be there or on the fan speed selector switch. You'll have to pull the center console cover off to get to it. Good luck. C205 is the connector between the panel and the resistor pack. The problem could be there also. Look for burned or corroded connections or loose wires.

It Fixed It!!!!!!!!!!!!!
THANK U AGAIN. I was a loose connector behind the fan control switch. I did lose the 3rd speed again, but I unplugged it and plugged it back in and all 4 fan speeds are working great now.
A friend was having the same problem with his Jeep Cherokee and it was the same issue. We fixed his too!!! ![]() |

I did not have to remove the dash :-) I was able to reach it by removing the glove box door :-)

Maybe i have the same problem, but for me the 2 lowest speeds are not working on the AC/HEATER Blower fan. Everything works fine on the 2 Highest speeds in all settings.
I tried to find the connector from the glove box but u could't find(feel) any connector, on wich side on the back of the heater control panel is it?

For you JAW_WRANGLER i think that the air that is coming from your vents is only free air from outside and as faster you go as more air vill comes in, but the free air goes through the heating system so if you have the heater on it will be a bit warmer and if you have the AC on it will be a bit cooler.
Anyone knows how to remove the heater control panel?, My hands seems to be to big to go behind the panel from the glove box.

I have now looked up the service report that was made on the service 6month ago. At that service they had put in a new resistor. So maybe the service guy did something wrong with that work?

When I got in my Jeep to go home after work yesterday, I suddenly had no heat. Well, no fan, anyway. None of the speeds worked. Am I likely looking at a problem with the resistor, too? The fuse was fine.

I took it to the stealership and they replaced the ignition switch which fixed the problem. Just thought you might like to know about that before you blow about 120 on a blower motor that may or may not fix the problem.

How in the world did an ignition switch fix it? I've seen the wiring diagram and I don't think an ignition switch affects it at all. Maybe my 2000 is different.
