? about bikini tops

Hey, first post for a new 02 TJ owner, so please be nice. LOL
The jeep currently has a soft top on it but the wife wants a bikini top as well. I don't want to have to deal with removing one for the other. Is there a specfic top (bikini) that can be installed and left in place and the soft top still function? Any specfic brand or style I should be looking at.

you can only have one on at a time. they both attach to the top of the windshield. I have a Bestop header bikini, looks good. there are 2 different types of channels for attaching to the windshield - 1 is a screw-in type and the other is a clamp-on type like the soft top brackets. here's a link on how to install

I run my hardtop till march... switch to my softop till june... switch
to my safari bikini till september... switch to my softop till november
works very well your climate will differ but you'll figure out when to
switch things around....

Go with the safari (longer version) as it will keep you dryer when rain
comes down... and it gives you a little more shade too...that said there
will be some leakage — even with all 3 pieces (bikini/windjammer/duster)
your floors will get wet so running only for the dry season or getting rid
of your carpet and putting in some roll-on bedliner is good idea....

I love mine... I have the camoflage safari (%50 thicker than other colours),
with a black diamond plate duster/windjammer and the no drill header...

For years I removed the doors and windows and stored them, and just ran the canopy all summer. This year, I got a new top and went ahead and bought a safari bikini on sale. So now I'll remove the whole top and frame and just run the bikini.

If you run just the canopy without the doors and windows, how much (or little) does the canopy flap against the frame? Today was nice enough for me to ride with my drivers window open all the way for the first time (only owned the Jeep about a month), and at 45-50mph, I actually started to get concerned about going airborne it was making such a racket! At any rate, I've got the 1/2 doors, and like the idea of just taking out all the windows but leaving the top up to keep both the sun and rain out.

Thanks guys, sorry for the goofy questions. I have had trucks and 4 wheelers for years. The jeep thing is new to me, so I have a little to learn. I went with the safari top.

Shouldn't hurt anything really if it's the original top it's probably pretty
loose from years of sun and wind..... Your plastic "door surround" the two
piece frame your soft-top grips onto around your door can be disconnected
into two pieces when you're either running the "canopy" or a "safari top"
and you can just run with the top piece of the door surround leaving your
sides more open..... there's a little "c clip" that holds the hinge together...
just pop it of with some pliers and get even more open air.....
