Spare belts, Ujoints, etc.

Working with cars is a little like a really awesome date: you start out expecting this to be something simple and straightforward; four hours later you're laying under her, panting and cursing, and things are a lot more complicated than you thought.

When my Jeep stops making strange noises, I become concerned. That usually means I have to go back and find whatever fell off.

Okay, I have the appt to do diffs both, transfer case fluid change, transmission oil change and a coolant flush. I will stop by the parts store and get my 6 qts of synthetic, and my K and N oil filter for 30 bucks. Filter alone is 10 bucks normally. and plugs and wires.

I can picture Lumpster sticking it to DC. IDC what they say. But better safe then sorry. I have a spare u-joint, but god I would hate to change that on the road. I know some of the hardcore off roaders do it on the trail, and I did my axle u-joint in the driveway, but i would hate to do it on the road.

Do the diffs and transfercase yourself. You will save at least $150 if you dealer tries to charde what mine did. BTW, If Im 15 and can do it with ease, you should have absolutely no problem with a razor blade, rag, 13mm socket(diff bolts), and 30mm socket(back of tcase), a botle of brake cleaner(to clean out diffs), tube of RTV, and 2 quarts of ATF(t-case), and around 3 or 4 quarts of gear oil.

btw, the air filter was a good idea -- especially if you're hitting a lot of dusty areas. Quality paper is better than a K&N, you can search the forum for the endless debate.]

You said you have freshly balanced tires, that's great. Keeping your front suspension components lubed is important to ward off the dreaded DW.

Got the diffs fluid changed and t case fluid
Got the tranny flushed and radiator flushed.
Total 400$

Oh well good to go now. Transmisssion flush is 160 alone.

I put in a WIX air filter and the Kand N is oil. which I haven't heard bad things about and costs 13.99. but they have the full synthetic with this filter for 26.99.

I bought Bosch plug which i realized are.
so I will go back and get champions

also I will be following this guide Jeep Spark Plug Remove and Install
for my wireless plugs. I wondered why no one carried wires for this year.

Thanks everyone.

The route is roundtrip
Vermont to Moab to vegas to LA to lake tahoe to colorado to NC to vermont
YEEEEEHAAAAAAAAAAAH

The axle shaft seal i beleive was leaking the whole time, but it made it okay.

Now that's a bonding experience with a Jeep (and anyone else that went with you)!

How big are you? That had to be one cramped sleeping arrangement.
