Money got tight so I had to turn in a lease vehicle and start driving my jeep since its paid off. I didnt want to commute on the set up i had; so I sold the axle, lift and tires and swapped in my old stock springs. I got a good deal on some other stock components (dana 35 with 4:11 and shocks) and threw some 31's under it. I get better gas mileage and less wear and tear now. Plus I get to sand bag and reallocate that money I was paying on the lease. Now that my wife has been laid off, Im really glad I made the decision .

Do you remember if you were able to use two passenger side hoses for the right and left? O'Reilley's keeps wanting me to get the driver side that is longer and funny looking. Just wondering, thanks!

To the best of my knowledge, I used two passenger side hoses. One for the left and one for the right. Why are they insisting on the driver side hose?

They aren't insisting, I was just online and they were pointing me to a driver and passenger hose and they were different. I figured the passenger would work, I just wanted tobe sure I didn't read your post wrong.

I used two passenger side lines. Do not use the driver's side since it is longer and will have the three way valve.

No Problem and thanks Max-Q for the confirmation.

What was your stock pinion set at. If you only plan on 2" of lift, then I would set it up slightly higher than stock. If you plan on lifting it more, I would set it closre to 15*

Btw, watch out for that track bar bracket if you only plan on 2" lift. That thing is pretty tall and you may need to modyfy it, just confirm it and check your bump stops.
What measurements did you take to center you 8.8? I have been thinking about it and I am stumped.

For instance, to center left to right. Look at (I had my tires on the axle) distance between the tire and the frame. I ended up about an 1/8 of center and that is fine because before the 8.8 I had over 1/4 due to the lift, even after and t-bar relocation bracket. Axle under TJ and TJ frame at ride height. Center It and attach mounts to the respective parts and you can tack weld them from there. or mark the crap out of it and tack weld them and test fitment. I was able to put the full weight of the TJ on the tack welded mounts. Just for measurements, I did not drive it that way lol.
For front to back I went from the lower control arm (either the bolt hole center or edge of arm, as long as you measure the same on both sides)to the axle (measurement).
Take lots of measurements to be sure you are where you want to be. If you feel like It moved, and it will, remeasure!
Hope that helps

What Phreaq said will work. Im too lazy to think about what I did at the time, but just pick points you can measure with accuracy and confirm both sides are close to semetrical. Have fun!

what inspiration i have now...im picking up a 99 explorer or mountaneer 8.8 in the am for 125 bucks..complete with all parts and emergency cables just incase..
so far i see i need 2 pass side rubber lines
im running a 4 inch lift,35,s and will have a sye,cv d.shaft and someday a tummy tuck.so im hinking 15 degrees pinion angle should be fine?

when i have the axle sitting at 15 degrees on the stands the spring brakets are welded on level? i think?

hopefully i will get it all right the first time as the turdy5 has been getting to much abuse and needs refreshing with the 8.8..

wish me luck..it will be a few weeks before i get all the brackets..i have a spare turdy5 but the heck with those brackets even tho i could cut them off very nice they are thin..

If I had to do it over again I would have set the pinion around 15* before welding and yes, I would weld the perches at 0*. Have fun!
