6 passenger Wrangler

I'm looking for a Wrangler with a 3rd row seat mod. An Unlimited (4 door) seems like the model that would have it, but I saw a custom 2001 on eBay that I am kicking myself for not snatching up. I have a 2005 2 door Unlimited now, so besides the fact that there really isn't enough room for a 3rd row seat, how the heck would anyone get back there without loosing some shin meat?

I saw these when I googled, but to me they look rediculous. Granted, lots of room in the 3rd row, but it has that awkward stretch look. I would think the 06 and 07 model Unlimited has enough space for a third row without having to stretch it like that. I plan on putting small kids with short legs back there anyway so I don't need that much room.

The stretch TJs look bad but the CJs look pretty nice.

I sold this guy my 82 Scrambler a few years back, and he hacked it in half saddest day of my life. But thats what happens when you get cash strapped.

man i cant imagine putting the top down and taking 6 doors off.. but ive seen those before.. actually saw a 6 door Live in person on the highway a few years back. looked crazy but there was a whole family in it.. cant imagine trying to sit back there in the summer with the top up or in winter.. unless it has rear HVAC.

You might be able to fit a jump seat in the back, but even with a unlimited theres not that much room in the back.

I'm trying to blend families, but I won't sacrifice being a jeep owner. Driving a Suburban is sacrilegious, driving a minivan is downright satanic! There's gotta be another one out there. Man I should have grabbed that one off of eBay!!!

Why not the Commander?? Once you get a TJ or JK that long, it seems like it wouldn't be as fun anyway...Now that I think about it, having the top off all those seats is kinda cool.

Does anyone make/sell a conversion like the one shown here?

Please ignore the color.

When there was a thread about jump seating in the back of a TJ/LJ, I was thinking of those pink tour jeeps, but couldnt remember where I had seen them before. Itd be an interesting conversion, looks like plenty of departure angle clearance since the seats are so high up. Minus that color.

Landcruisers (FJ40s) had facing seats in back. It was workable but not very comfy. They also had more headroom - I don't think it would work as well in a TJ.

I think the seatbelt laws made them obselete. (imagine a collision while sitting sideways...)
