tomorrow... swing by the dealer and get a new set of 6.1 exhaust gaskets.. seem to be the best and most suggested ones to use. slide the transfer case back in and check for clearance issues etc before i commit to anything further on the lift bracket positioning, trans xmember etc....

talked with chris at squier the other day, hes working on the wiring harness.

man the natives were moving last night... wow.

i am looking at 40x13.5x17s and am still in the great debate over which to choose. kelvar mts, creepys, rockers... i keep bouncing between them.

i want to keep the jeep in as much of a stock exterior appearance [fenders flares] as possible. thats the goal at least.

You can't beat the MT/Rs, plus, they were factory tread (ok.... close enough now that it is with kevlar).

I thought the high clearance skid was more work for me but with what your running I can see its alot more for you. Its totally worth it though. Before I put my rear coil relocators in Im at 18 3/4" belly clearance running 50% tread 35s Should put me just under 20" after its all said and done. Ill be putting the UCF low profile trans mount on this weekend to help give me a little more room between the trans and the tunnel. It fits now but Its really tight and the tunnel gets hot. Im thinking maybe some high heat dynamat along the tunnel perhaps. You may want to look into the UCF mount as well.

tomorrow i measure all the key spots. where the jeep sits now, is where it sat with the 6" lift and 37s. my objective is to keep it as close to possible to this ride height if not a touch lower.

im stuck with having to fab a transmount. no choice. would love to run a UCF however no way any prefabbed part is working in this scenario. im going to mount the Xmember in the holes it lines up with. im considering 2 options. [1] i have a high perf mustang poly trans mount i can use with a little plate work or [2] using the standard sleeve and bushing type mount with a stand-off.

either way... preference and time. i am as usual begining to over engineer the mount... thinking about what i saw a guy do on pirate with dual sleeved bushings [one on either end and the mount plate between] to spread out the torque load on the mount. im also thinking about a rear mount as well

i beleive the mustang mount will twist less than a singe sleeved set up and the double sleeve would twist less than both.

my biggest issue right now with this portion of the build is the clocking of the factory 241. i have to stuff the transfer case waaaaaayyyyyy up there to clear the HC pan, even with a 1" body. part of me says sell the 241 for 1K and put it towards an atlas 2sp right now.

just empty every pocket...... savings account, paypal account and credit card

yeah I had to clearance the tunnel a little bit for the 241 and the high clearance skid. The linkage is STILL rubbing a little bit so Im going to have to get up there and clearance it a bit more.
