Never had to deal with the clutch slave but I can say the Dodge trucks which are similar dont have a bleeder on the slave, there sealed units from the factory. How to bleed them I couldent say, your supposed to replace the master/slave and line in one shot.

I just put my 98 on the rack and on top of the slave in back is a allen head bleeder screw down in the plastic casting cog, pick out the mud and you`ll see it if its the same.

It is a sealed unit. You are better to get the whole thing, slave, lines, M/C all in one and install it that way. My 98 manual calls it a sealed system.

I'm curious... if its a sealed unit and you just replace the slave/MC all at one time, how do you bleed it once its in there?

I believe it comes filled and ready to go.

From the 98 manual

CLUTCH HYDRAULIC LINKAGE
The clutch master cylinder, slave cylinder and connecting
line are serviced as an assembly only. The
linkage components cannot be overhauled or serviced
separately. The cylinders and connecting line are
sealed units. Also note that removal/installation procedures
for right and left hand drive models are basically
the same. Only master cylinder location is
different.

I just replaced the slave cylinder on my camaro a few months ago. It did not have a bleeder screw, first time I have ever seen one like this, and like an fool I had to dig in the trash for the instructions after I installed it, lol

what I had to do was hook all the lines up, but not the hard linkage, tilt the slave cylinder at 45deg, and move the shaft back and forth on the slave cylinder slowly a few times. Wile someone above looking at the reservoir to let you know when the bubbles stop. Once the bubbles stop, pump it a few more time, with the slave cylinder pushed in, close the reservoir, and hook everything up.

Remind you this was on my camaro not my jeep, the old slave cylinder had a bleed screw. as for price my camaro at the dealership was $180, at advance autoparts $115, since I use my friends commercial accounts the price was about $55. best bet is find someone with a commercial account they only pay 10% over cost from select autopart stores.

X2 on the guy above. I replaced my slave the same way in my 97 TJ. It can be done but you have to fill the slave all the way up with fluid and connect it all up but not bolt it to the bell housing. Then pump up the slave by hand (not the clutch) until the bubbles stop coming out of the master. Add fluid if you need to and slap the cap back on. Your ready to go after bolting it to the bell housing!
