I would LOVE to have a 5.3 in my Jeep. That is one of the best modern engines out there. Keep us posted on how it works out for ya!

A quote from my wife: "I don't even want to know how much it cost, I'm not in the mood to be that pissed off today."

good luck with it. I would plan on removing the winch front buper and inner fenders, working around them will be 10 times more work than removing them. I wish I had removed my fenders when I did my swap.

could put in an inline fuel pump somewere on the frame rail, that way it would be easy to change if it burnt up or something

I switched in the 05 pump and tank, I think the pump alone would work though, it looked the same as my 03

What is different about the 05 tank? also i have to run a return fuel line because the 5.3 has a fuel regulator at the rail and send the unused fuel back to the tank...do the newer jeeps use a return system...is that why you used the 05 tank?

the 05 tank gets rid of the return line, it changes the evap system to the newer NVLD which is the same as the 1500 ram. you wont need the tank for yours. I think the 05 pump runs at 58 psi at the injectors
