4spd Auto, 35's, and 3.73 gears

For those of you running 35's with 3.73 gears and the 4 spd auto.

How would the jeep compare to 33's and 5 spd manual with 3.73's? Also what kind of milage are you getting and are you having any trans problems?

My sister in law is runnign that combo with no problems. She's not the type to keep track of mileage, but it seems to work pretty good. I am giving her my 4.10's though when I go to 4.88's.

My 35's are boggin' down my 4.10's ... with my 4-speed auto.

I have to struggle to get to 65mph, and forget it if it's uphill at all.

I can't wait for my 4.88's ... I'm mustering up the tools (and guts) to do it myself.

Hmmm maybe I'll have to drive hers and see how it is. I guess I should confirm that the 05 sports came with the 4spd auto right?

Seriously...... 3.73's with 35's and the 42RLE 4 speed trans?

That has got to bring the suck big time.

I am on 35's with 4.88's with the 42RLE and wishing I did 5.13's.

No trans problems here, 9-10 mpg in town, 12-14 on the highway depending on speed, and the road.

Well I did say it was my SISTER in law, she is a woman after all I'll have to give it a whirl and see how bad it is. She seems pretty satisfied with it.

so even if you turn off the OD its not tolerable. And it sucks even with 4.88's? What the hell good is this trans if it sucks that bad?

My rig is fairly heavy, but yes.

Right now I turn 2300-2400 at 70 mph on the highway. A slight rise, or wind and I am kicked out of O/D and hitting 3k and over to maintain speed. In town 38-45 mpg is nasty...motor lugs and there is no power. 5.13's would be better I think.

turning O/d off in town helps with the bad spot I mentioned above, but no help on the highway in wind or on a hill, unless you don't mind running at 3000-3500 to keep 65-70 mph.
