If might take me 6 months or a year, but I get bored quick, we've already been talking about a budget turbocharger for the 5.0L in my jeep. But I'd gear it torward diesal fast spool-up and RPM, not like most turbo V8s which favor horsepower/RPM over spool-up and torque.

My SRT4 neon made 407Whp and 505TQ, so... I'm pretty sure I could get a 302 to make around 340whp and 460Wtq @ fairly close to idle.

My jeep would loose to both though.... 3:07 gears and 36'' tall tires
I'm currently at $1600 TOTAL from start to finished ( almost ). And that's all new everything for the motor ( water pump, oil pump, alternator, starter, seals, gaskets, adapter, clutch, etc etc ). The 6.0L I was going to buy was going to cost me $1500 before I even bought an adapter and/or any of the swap parts.

Now.... A 5.0L turbo vs a stock LS2, we'd have a race !!!!
You make it seem as Curlee has a LSx in his Jeep. A LS2 and an LSx are very very different

I think he means LSx as any LS block engine, as opposed to the specific LSX engine

Lsx is a V6 diesal, right ?....

Before they built the new "LSx race block", people refered to the LS motors as "LSX motors" b/c honda has built an "LS motor" since about 1990. So, yea, when I say "LSx" I'm refering to GM LS motors in general, not the race block.

So you are talking a stock Ford 5.0 V a stock LS2 6.0? Sort of a silly
test. The 6.0 is far advanced of a 5.0. My PT Cruiser smoked a 5.0
Mustang. His 5.0 may have been crap, but he had zero chance of
keeping up with my lttle 2.4.

LOL...

Love the post. I would say the only thing that beats cubic inches (CI) is Cubic Dollars :-). So that being said..

Go Ford.. Hmmm..

Not many of you know this..

Ready??

OK.

so here is my Camaro...

Yep.. I swing both way's. and as fast as my jeep is.. The Camaro would leave it any time.. Any Day... Any way.. if it's a fair race.

not that anyone seems to have it (that i know) but i would take a 351 Ford over an LSx in a heartbeat. Stroked, camed and with some AFR heads!

then again, if i ever had a v8 that powerful id prolly stick it in my mustang before i put it in the jeep

472 actually wouldn't be bad. one of the best Cadillac motors ever made(500 was better but basically the same motor) I know it was a typo but I had a 472 then later a 500 in my 68 coupe deville and those motors have a ridiculous amount of torque. weighs less then a chevy 454 as well but doubt you could make it fit. just useless info for you guys.

Well, just some info for all of you, but I have already beaten a 5.0 mustang, so that motor in a jeep isnt going to stand a chance. 472cid your swap is awesome, and I am in no way doging it though. Its funny to think that our jeeps stir up the old chevy vs ford battle.

Also, I think it was mentioned but Im running 4.88 gears on 37 inch tires. In first gear I have enough torque to lift the front tires off the ground. If you havnt seen the videos of my jeep at the track Ill post them
