4 wheel drive

Ever since I got my 06 TJ lifted I've been having trouble putting it in 4 low. I already custom fixed it so that it wouldn't fall out but now its difficult to get into 4 low. Any ideas to whats up and what I can do about it?

What type of lift did you do? Suspension, BODY? You problem sounds body lift related. I have the advance adapters transfer case shift adapter bracket and it works like butta! Here is the link...http://advanceadapters.com/product/2565/%28P/N-715542%29-Stand-alone-TJ-%26-Cherokee-Shifter-Bracket.html

You don't have any info in your profile for your Jeep. Fill it out it helps us answer questions.

You may just need your linkage adjusted. But likely your problem is the fact the shifter linkage is still attached to the body/transfer case. This causes binding.

http://www.quadratec.com/products/12521_200.htm That should move the body mount to the transfer case so they both move at the same time. There are other options but that is the cheapest.

X2 on that.

One thing though, when you order it, find out if your threads on the t-case are fine or coarse and let them know. I had to wait while they sent out the fine-threaded studs for me to replace the coarse ones they sent with the order.

hey thanks. sorry about my profile. I updated my profile a bit. I'll add more to it later with some pics. I have a 2" pro-comp suspension lift. I think your right about the shifter linkage.

More than likely the problem if you are running a transfercase drop

Did you lower the transfercase skid to resolve driveline vibrations? If yes, then you're TC is now ~1" lower and the shifting linkage angles are different. You're better off with the AA adapter (i'm using it as well) in the long run, but you're still going to have to adjust your shifter linkage.

I had to adjust my shifter linkage after my susp lift. It was pretty easy as I just had a helper shift it back and forth whith jeep off parking break on and in nuetral while I looked under the the jeep with a flash light. With it moving back and forth I was able to see how it worked and adjust it accordingly.
