4.56 Gearing On 4spd Auto
I was wondering if anyone has this setup on a 32" tire. I am currently running 3.73. I would like to retrieve some performance back but I also don't want to be screaming down the freeway either.
Thanks

32s auto 4.56 is an over kill maybe 4.10 but you will be fine with stock gears

unless you imminently plan on going to a bigger tire you *will* be screaming down the highway. Although I dont have personal experience with the 4spd. I know it would not be a desireable combo with the older 3 spd torque flite- what I run.

i would say do it (4.56) i have 4.10's and 32's (street tires) and i find myself wishing i had more gear. also, my 5spd has a .79 5th gear--isn't the 4spd auto .69 od? i think 4.56's would be great--especially when you go to 33's or 35's--and you know you will eventualy.

I have a 5 speed and run 4:10/11 with 33" and 32" Yeah I have to sets long story.
A good rule is with an auto drop one set ratio down from the stick jeeps. Your equivalent is 4:10 When I have the 32" the 4:10/11 are great. Only on the steepest of grades do I need to down shift. With the 33" MTR I wish I had the 3:56" Now I do a lot of up hill driving. The cost in for gearing can be a hell of a lot. Unless you are always in 3rd and 4th is gone I would sit tight. For me I'll be putting 4:88 when I go to 35" in a few years.
