I had a problem with the bolts on the upper control arms, They had a clip that is supposed to hold the bolt so it won't turn. it just spun when I turned the nut and was a PITA to get it off so I could get a wrench on the bolt.

I did mine with a sears 2ton a couple of HF stands and craftsman ratchets with crappy ratchet cams and a hacksaw. I think I could have done it in 2 with a set of snap ons, some pnuematics and a lift.

I will qualify my time estimate:

day and a half each in the driveway

2 hours in a decent shop.

Where in Illinois are you chaoticdefekt? I like wrenching and I have done a rear axle swap before. I am impressed with these low axle swap times and I don't doubt them. However, living in the chicagoland area meant I had to deal with some rust. Also, everytime I turn a bolt on my Jeep something goes wrong. For instance, taking my skid plate off took 2 hours. 6 bolts were rusted in the frame and through a skyjacker t-case drop kit. I had to drill through...anyway, just leave yourself plenty of time and it is a very straightforward swap.

A side note, junkyards around the chicagoland area (if you live around here) are not very good for finding Jeep axles. It took me quite some time to hunt down a decent HPD30 for a reasonable price. I just built up a D44 from the housing up for the rear axle; IMO that was the best way to do it. Also, if you are going with some taller tires, you may want some lower gears. So, even if you keep the D30 in the front, you'll most likely be re-gearing that as well. Oh, and don't run out of money. I have a HP30 sitting in the garage along with my t-case shifter linkage. No money to regear the front axle...
