Didn't read all of them, so sorry if some of this is repeat. I ran 31X10.50s on stock 15X7 steel spokes for 50K miles and decided I wanted 33s. I am running a 2"BB w/Rubi springs and 15X8 MT Classic Locks. No BL, no TC drop, no MML, no vibes. I am completely happy with my set up. Rides well down the road. Struggles a little with hills and head winds. Would like to go with a lower gear, but not interested in extra height, unless I go to 35s next time around.

I do take it off road (Gray Rock twice, typical hunting club stuff, trail rides with our local 4X4 group), but not interested in tearing anything up, so the 2"BB is sufficient w/33s.

Well...I have read almost all of these posts and have come to the conclusion it would be better for the OP to sell me that Rubicon, and buy a minivan, take it to Colorado, and rent a Jeep once he gets there. That would solve all problems, great highway gas mileage, don't need skids because the Jeep would be a rental, plenty of cargo space, etc. I'm just kidding!
As several posters have said so eloquently, the 1/2" difference between 32s and 33s is not gonna make a noticeable difference off road. On an LJ I'm sure the TT is a great mod to help the breakover angle. On my TJ I just put on 33x12.50-15 BFG TAKOs, and the ride is great. They ride much better than the 31s they replaced. I struggled between 32s and 33s and, just like the OP I over analyzed everything, and tried to make the perfect decision. I finally went with 33s and a JKS 1.25" BL and MML because I knew I would not be satisfied with 32s. Most of the reason is "the look" of meatier tires. I'll admit, I like the look of 33s more than 32s. I am running aftermarket aluminum wheels and the 33 will fit the stock spare rack with the BL. A 33 only weighs about 4 or 5 lbs more than a 32. I don't think that's gonna wreck my tailgate. The main problem with larger tires on the tailgate is catching the spare on a ledge and pulling the bottom of the tire out and bending the tailgate. The bottom line is I don't think you will regret 33s because all the problems you are worrying about will not happen. But if you are happy with 32s because they are a bit less work and expense, then follow your gut. I know tires are expensive, and I didn't want to buy another set anytime soon. And I highly recommend the BFG ATs. They rock!
