33 Engineering Tummy Tuck Install Problems

I have a 05 Rubicon with the Auto. 4" SA lift with a 1.25"BL and ML. I installed a 33 Engineering Tummy Tuck today and now I have a horrible vibration through the floor with light throttle, jeep stationary. I also have a metal grinding? noise when trying to drive. I am using the factory tranny mount. Has anyone installed one of these and did you use the factory tranny mount? Seems like it should have a smaller tranny mount to reduce possibility of the tranny vibrating against the body, and decreasing drive line angles. It didnt come with any kind of instructions. Wouldnt think you would need any as looks strait forward but something is wrong. Please help!

Are you running a CV/SYE setup with adjustable upper control arms?

Did you get a new driveshaft when upgraded to the 4" kit?

The Rubicon Transfer case is bigger, I would assume it is touching the floor pan in several places. You could try a smaller tranny mount but you may need to clearance the floor pan with a hammer.

You should contact 33 - Eng and ask about fitting the skid on a rubi.

Look at the top of your t-case. I'm sure that it's against the bottom of your tub. What you need to do is pull the TT off again, get a floor jack under the t-case and lower it down enough to get a block of wood cut from a 4X4 between your t-case and the tub. Then jack the t-case back up and dimple the bottom of the tub. You won't see this inside because the tub is double wall where you're doing this, so don't worry. You need to dimple it enough so that when your t-case is back up to the height it would be when sitting on the new skid, it's not touching. Having another person to help you will make this job a lot easier.

Frankly, I'm surprised that you were able to get the skid bolted up at all without doing this. The 33 tranny mount will help, but you will still have to dimple the tub - just not as much.

Wrong. You have a fixed yoke on your NP241 but you do not have a CV style shaft. Your fixed yoke won't help prevent vibes any more than the slip yoke style of the TJ NP231. You should probably look into a custom CV shaft. But to answer your question....sounds like your larger NP241 and/or tranny is rubbing the tub. 33 Eng. sells a lower profile tranny mount that you should give a try. I know there is a great, in depth install on the 33 Eng. unit on here...search for it.

I thought one of the advantages to the Rubi package was that it had the cv style shaft. Wouldnt be the first time I was wrong. In any event I am convinced that I need to get the lower tranny mount and I may even have to lower the TT. I will call 33 Engineering in the morning for their assistance.

Why don't you just get the CV driveshaft and adjust your UCA's?

Well after carefully looking I have discovered that the transfer case it hitting the tub. Looking at the chart on 33 engineering the new tranny mount should solve that problem. I will call them in the morning. I also discovered that the air locker bracket was hitting the transfer case. A couple of minuetes with the cut off wheel fixed that. I do not see that the drive lines are binding but after I get the other issue fixed I will be able to tell more. Lastley I have to adjust the t-case lever as it is bound up. I am wondering if I should remove the bracket that came with the body lift. Any thoughts on that?

Yeah I would remove that bracket and put the shift lever back to stock...That should help some.

If not Novak adapters sells the best transfercase bracket for your application.
