31x10.50x15's on 15x7 rims

i own a 2003 jeep wrangler x and have stock 225x75r15's on it, my question is i am going to put 31x10.50x15's on and was wandering if this will run without any problems other than maybe having to extend the bump stops?

if you don΄t want to use swaybar disconnects the 31s will work without any rubbing. with discos i would install a 2" BB. then you can drive off the road without rubbing tires.
think about buying some 0.75"-1" wheel spacers. then your tires are as wide as the fender flares. that looks much better.

nicolas

P.S. sorry for my bad english...

You won't have any problems.

At the MOST, you may have to add a few washers to your steering stops if you get any rub at full turn. You'll be fine

I'm running 31's on stock Grizzlies and have no problem except when I turn to full lock it rubs a bit, just haven't put on those washers yet.

I ran 31x10.5's on my stock TJ for over a year.

When the springs were good it didn't rub anywhere. After they sagged, I got a little rubbing here and there, but it was nothing to be concerned about.

I wheeled it often and always ran disconnected. I also never adjusted my steering stops.

My next question would be, how hard is it to put coil spring spacers on or would a body lift be best to give it a little rise

I have Cragar Soft 8's coming Tuesday, want to thrown some 31's on too...I am wondering the same on the above. I dont want to get into a lot of work, I am keeping her near-stock while I am still making the $400/month payment...but a little lift and some disco's would sure be sweet!

SPring spacers are pretty easy to install and a better option then a BL IMO. With a little knowledge, basic hand tools, some good jack stands and a floor jack you and a buddy can get it done in a couple hours. I think the last time I put a set on it took about 1.5 hrs and that was screwing around too. Some opt to use spring compressors but I just undo the LCA on that corner and sway bar so you will get max drop out of it and be able to get them in no problem. If it were me, I would wait to put in the spring spacers until I have both the spacers and discos. No point in doing the same thing twice.

Vedrt good point. I wont be able to get the ok on spending from the better half until the fall for all of this...aarrggh...too expensive. Wheels, discos, spacers, winch, mounting plate, battery, etc etc...I wish I was made of money!

rocky road outfitters sells a BB kit for about $120. Then discos depending will run you upwards of $170 (JKS shipped). I have litterally bought parts and waited 3 months with them sitting in the 'pile' while waiting for funds for everything else. Married, 2 kids-yeah i'm broke too!

I just put on some 31" Cooper Discoverer STTs on my stock steelies (X model) and have no rubbing at all. Haven't had a chance to take it off-road yet, but it looks like there is plenty of room as long as I don't disco. They do stick out of the flares a little (1" - 1 1/2") but that is the sidewall. Other than that they are great. Can post some pics if you want.

thanks everyone for all the good info, ahhhhhh the joys of owning a jeep wrangler, i think a person could spend there life savings doing odds and ends to one lol, so much you can do with one. i will most likely do the spring spacers a little later, does anyone know with a body lift if there as anything you have to do with the air conditioning unit if you put a body lift on, i know i see them advertised for vehicles with automatic trannys or manual trannys but also i see without airconditioning, just curious.

Here's what 33 x 10.50's look like on stock steel 7" wheels with 4" of lift. Works great for me.
