3'' offset on rims, good or bad???

Im looking into these rims.(link on bottom) i have a small rubbing problem hitting the driverside lover control arm on left hand turns. i have the crager soft 8s now with a 4.25 in offset. i want the 3 in offset for the wider stance but will it be too much ware and tear on ball joints, u joints, ect.....???????

The number you're referring to is called backspacing. Anywhere between 3.75 and 4.5 inches of backspacing seems to be the norm with 35x12.50s and 33x12.50s. Three inches of backspacing isn't horrible, but you do want to avoid it if you can. Like you said, too much stress on the hub/ball joints, etc. In order to stop your rubbing, just add a washer or two under your steering stops. It's very easy and only takes about two minutes.

edit: Here's a link on how to adjust your steering stops. http://www.stu-offroad.com/steering/...teerstop-1.htm

3" will be really wide.
You don't want to use those wheels anyway - you did notice they aren't even DOT approved for highway use?
