Well I think the stock rims are only 7.5 in. Wide. I don't think you wanna put a 12.5 in on a rim that is that narrow. Regardless of the backspacing. Those rims won't work with 33x12.5. Usually the rule is that the rim should be no more then 4in. Narrower then the the tire. But people run 33x12.5 tires on 15x8 rims all the time, and that's the minimum rim width a 12.5 can be put on. In my opinion I would think about picking up some cheap 15x8 wheels or looking for some tires that are 10.5 wide.

PO of my Jeep ran 10.50 33s on canyons with no spacers so I would think with only one inch more tire on the inside that a 1.25" spacer would be fine

You can run up to 4" BS wheels and still clear. We've done many with the black US wheels that come in a 15x8 4"BS with 33x12.50's.

the site says 3.5 is the MAX backspacing recomended!...not that you have to or should run that much. 3.5 backspacing your tires will stick out way past the fender flares....looks ugly in my opinion and your liable to rub and tear up the fenders offroad.

You need 4.5" or less backspacing for 12.50 wide tires.

Adding 1" or thicker wheel spacers to your Canyon wheels will allow you to run 12.50 wide tires.

RC wheel spacers for around $115 or new wheels are needed.

I just put the 3inch zone lift on my 06 tj and the front measured up 4 inches higher than stock and the rear was 5 1/2 higher. I'm gonna put a rear bumper/spare on the back next week and some 33s maybe things will level out
