27 or 30 spline?

Im looking to find out if a HP dana 30 im getting from my friend is a 27 or 30 spline. It came out of a 94 XJ. Any tips? I'm not too knowledgable on axles and gearing (yet).
Thanks in advance.

The only 30 spline axle shafts for the Dana 30 are aftermarket. It's very rare that someone with a jeep does this conversion. I don't think you'd be able to tell unless you actually pulled one of the axles out of the housing.

Stock is 27 spline as already mentioned. 30 spline is aftermarket, but I wouldn't recommend running 30 splines unless you've got plenty of money. 27 splines can use factory stock parts as spares, but 30 splines need expensive aftermarket parts as spares. Just my opinion though.
