231 swap questions

I picked up a 231 with a advance adapters sye installed on it but am having some slight issues. They are both 23 spline inputs but the one I took out has an input shaft measuring about 1.5 inches long and the one I was gonna put in is only .75 inches long. Will this be a problem? And the connection for the wire that I believe is for the dash light that says you're in 4hi/4low is a 4 prong connector on the one I'm trying to install but I need it to be 2 prong...does it just un thread from the case? Thanks for any help

You will need to bust both cases open and swap both.

Just have to be aware that if it's an older case (pre 95) you can't put your input assembly into it. The sun gear is cut slightly differently. It'll physically drop in but will be one noisy batsard.
