2005 Jeep owners help

What is the sensor for on the air tube? The reason for the question is my dad has an intake for a 2002 but he just got an 05 unlimited and we were tying to make the intake work on the new one. Is the sensor threaded in or what? Any info on this thing would help.

Sounds like you're talking about the IAT. Intake air temp. Usually not threaded, just popped into place with a rubber grommet.
