Today I got the PSC Front Trail Cage. I'll get it welded and painted tonight and install it final in the morning after the paint dries.

Nice work. Got any more pictures and info on the hood? When I get my crusher corners and tube fenders I'm debating painting them to match.

You're doing alot of parts I think you would be better off with a HVLP gun. I did the front end of this Jeep on a bet and won!

The key to painting with rattle can is to get enough material down so you can flatten it out or make it smooth by using 600-1000 grit wet paper. It takes longer to do this way (that's how I was taught 35 years ago) but you get the best results. The deep rich paint jobs are always the ones that are the smoothest.

I also lay down a few coats with wet sanding between each. Then when you do the final sanding, before polishing, the paint is smooth to start with. We used this method and the cars we did always did well at the shows. What's nice about this method is if you get scrathes you just wet sand it and polish it and you are good to go.

I clear coat most of my other cars now

This took me a month to paint

What kind of lift is it you bought?
Jeep is looking good too.

Nice job. It's good to see a TJ that was rolled and probably left for the scrap yard to be rescued and put back into action.

Kind of like getting back on the horse after falling off. It's time to hit those trails again.

Awesome job provelogear. Here is what my son learned about 4X4, IFS, tow strap, and skinny pedal. Not his 1st time with a toe-in problem either. The 1st time didn't include the tow strap.

His sister was in the way of this one, but you can still see how bad it was..

Bent the left tie rod end and broke the right one. Fortunately, had one replacement. With the bottle jack and a few well placed pieces of tree parts, straightened the left one out enough to get home.

mdawg4x4,

Yep! Looks like you are already living my future! This was exactly why I went with this Jeep for him. Should he bash it up, Oh well. No problem!

Our family loves the outdoors and we really enjoy our time camping.

Thanks everyone for the kind words!

Just think, if you roll it on the trail in the future, you already know how to fix it all.

Great work and man you work fast, it takes the average dealer longer to change a light bulb than it took you to rebuild that TJ.
