2000 tj a.c. question

Wife's 2000 tj with 2.5 sometimes cuts off when she turns on the ac.does anyone know why that happens?

Compressor could be starting to seize up. Have you added Freon lately? Might be overfilled...

Cuts off as in engine dying? if so that's a FUBR compressor. Or you talking about the compressor cycling?

It would be kind of hard to add Freon when they haven't even made it since the 90's. Just so you know.

Could be the idle up circuit wire is not plugged in.

Engine dies while driving and idling.

if the engine dying when the compressor kicks on then the compressor is toast.
