2.5 TJ flat spot at 2000 rpm

As title suggests, My TJ has developed a problem that always seems to happen at 2000 rpm, usually in 4th gear on a gentle incline. It's almost as it the engine bogs down, kind of a flat spot which can be driven through with a bit of a judder. I have replaced the spark plugs, plug leads, rotor arm, dizzy cap all with mopar stuff. Also replaced the air filter with a K&N which seems to reduced the problem slightly (could it be overfueling?)

There are no warning lights and no engine codes to give me a clue so any thoughts apreciated.

Cheers,

Graham.

Thankyou...Sounds like it may be the o2 sensor(s) then. What i'm not sure about is that the problem seems to be intermittent. I can't make the jeep do it. Could an o2 sensor cause this?

I was thinking maybe an EGR valve problem....What is so special about 2000rpm?

Exact same problem here. I've had the Jeep for 4.5 years and 32,000 miles and it just started a couple months ago. I had a downstream o2 go out a few years ago that I never replaced though.

So that's what it needs! Does that come with a part number??

I bet jeep dealers stock them for something too
