2.5" Rough Country Lift on an 06 X

i didn't want to fill RCX's thread up with pictures, so i figured i would just start this thread and link it from a post in RCX's thread.

here goes...

the following is how much lift i got. the pictures aren't very great (can't see the tape measure too well) b/c my cousin was taking the pictures, and after every one i asked him if you can read the tape measure and he said yeah.

(all measurements to the nearest quarter inch and may look a little different from what they really are due to the angle of the photograph .. all in all i got about 2.25" in front and 2.75" in rear with just the lift and 3.75" in front and 4.25" in rear with the lift and changing from 30x9.50's to 33x12.50's...)

BEFORE LIFT AND TIRES
front bumper-18.75"

fender-29"

quarter panel-22.75"

rear bumper-16.75"

AFTER LIFT BEFORE TIRES
front bumper-21"

fender-31.25"

quarter panel-25.25"

[afterthough - i need to paint my exahust pipe.. someone remind me to do that. sometime. in the future]
rear bumper-19.5"

yeah i am happy with it. i really am glad i went the route i did. 2.5" springs, 1" body pucks. i came out saving a ton of money over my original plan of a 4" lift, plus i think the 1" body lift really makes it look better anyway. the whole reason i put the body lift on it in the first place was b/c i thought the grill looked too small, it just turns out that i found a good lift that brings it to almost 4" with the body lift for dirt cheap, so i had to jump on it. one thing about it is, the axles shift more then everyone on here told me they would, so i definately am going to have to get a track bar relocation bracket. not sure what i am going to do about the front. i don't think i am going to buy an adjustable arm, so i may just drill a new mounting location on the axle...thanks for the compliment on it by the way

i love those Trxus MT's! I had a pair and they were worn out so I got MT/Rs for $400 a set.. Couldn't beat that price!!! But my next tires, are going back to Interco! Looks awesome man!! Now us "X"s just have to get a D44 in the rear and regear and we'll be golden!!

How far off center did your axle end up? I was also curious about the vibes. Looks great by the way, I can't wait to install mine next week!

sorry i have been a little slow to respond. i went out to a chicks house in clinton tuesday and when i tried to come home yesterday, my jeep wouldn't start. went and had my battery tested and one of the cells were dead. as far as vibrations go, yeah a little sometimes. i put my lift on, put the 30's back on and drove to walmart to get my 33's mounted. on the way to walmart, i got some pretty bad vibes twice. both times were after hitting a pretty good sized bump. since i've put the 33's on, the only time i get any vibes is right off the start, my shifter shakes pretty bad. i haven't put on the t-case drop, and actually don't plan on it as of yet. my rear axle shifted quite a bit. it needs to come back to the left about 3/4 - 1" to be center. same with the front axle but it's not as much of a priority, b/c on the rear driver's side, the tire is only about 1/8" from the spring perch. whereas the passenger's side has over an inch. my OME bracket got delivered today, and i am going to put it on here shortly, and after i do it, if i am satisfied with the axle position, i am going to go up and play around in it a little bit. if i take any pictures, i will post them up.

hmph, i just looked at the instructions for my OME bracket and it says i have to take the rear coil out, and drill new holes. lol.... i just took the strut compressors back. i may just wait until the weekend to put this bracket on.. i'm not really going to have the chance to go 4 wheeling tonight or tomorrow anyway...
