1997 Maroon Jeep Wrangler Tj (

I have been riding for about three years now and have put a considerable amount of miles on it. I have the stock engine in and I have repainted the jeep. New steel tube bumpers, brand new 32" tires and rims (maybe 1,000 miles on them). LED Headlights, KC fog lights, 2" lift kit, new interior. I am looking to put a new engine in, but financing isn't quite there right now and I am debating if it is worth to get a new engine or just trade in the jeep I have and get a newer jeep. I am brand new to this forum if anyone has any suggestions I am glad to hear them.

Welcome to the forum.

What's wrong with your current engine?
How many miles ?
2.5l or 4.0l?
Would you replace with like or upgrade?
How long would you keep if engine replaced?
Happy with overall condition of jeep?

Edit, if you changed the header of your thread to something like, "new engine or new jeep, help?", you may would get more input.

X2 what's wrong with the current? If it is miles, as long as it's running fine, no need to worry. you should be able to get well over 200,000 (close to 3)

Keep that 4 banger. You can get a new engine for under $2000 when you need one.
