100,000 mile service, what needs to be done?

So our Jeep is getting close to her 100,000 mile mark. We love the car, and are not sure whether to trade her in and get something new (awesome deals on the new Grand Chrerokee's Limited w/ a V8).

Most likely we will keep her unless we get a deal that we simply cannot resist. At about 65,000, I had a major service done on the Jeep. It included all the fluid changes, new sparks, etc. At that time, the steering box was leaking as well, so we got that replaced.

Now the time has come again to get the service done. The problem is, the mechanic I took it to for the 65k mile service, is located close to my old job, which is now really far away. I would like to bring it somewhere else, but I'm just wondering what a service of that degree will include.

I'm assuming, sparks, air filter, oil change, and tranny oil change.

What else I'm I missing? I know someone had once said something about this cable and how it improves the engines performance and fuel mileage (I wanna say it started with a c and was about $50), but is there anything else?

How about shocks? I'm assuming those have just about had it, right?

PS, I tried doing a search for this and was not very successful.

First problem, it's a Jeep, not a car.

Yes, I know...I've been told several times on this message board, but since I own a car, I always have a hard time typing "Jeep"

You should get a tune up kit. Change all your fluids and filters.
Then find the woods and drive the balls off it.

Yes, I take care of it, my wife drives it most of the time. It sits in the garage at nights now. I guess I had everything pretty much down of what we need to do on it.

Thanks for your help!

Plugs, air filter, grease anything you can under the Jeep, replace power steering fluid, brake fluid, flush the radiator, replace your coolant hoses and your belt. Have your trans and your front and rear axle fluids changed. Get an alignment.

Things that you want to check but might not need replacing:

U-joints, shocks, get under the jeep and check the suspension, grab a hold of anything and try and move it, if anything seems loose, have it checked out, nothing under there should move by hand. Have the alternator and battery tested at Autozone, it's free.

I just called a local place and was quoted $200 to change Trans, Diffs and TC. Anything else I should consider. Also about to hit 100K.

And is that a decent price?

Change the fluids yourself. You'll save a ton of money on labor and get a better idea of the shape of the underside of your jeep.

Thank you so much for your input, this really helps. As soon as it warms up a little, I can get to work on all this stuff. My 65,000 mile service was about $600! So anything I can do myself to save a little money, always helps!
