I installed some cheap back up lights with a selectable switch today. When i say cheap i mean cheap. When i replace my bumper i will replace with some better ones but the hard part is done. I installed these in prep for my flush mounted leds form http://www.*******.com/dynamic/part_...t_num=LD-5570R. I have to stop buying all these little things and start to save for my lift.

Ordered my mesa led's last night. I will be installing them next Thursday . So I have read that the flasher I need for the led's is a EP-26 marked for 2-6 led's. I guess i will pick one of these up along with a hole saw from lowes. Anyone know what size hole the mesa's require...is it 4"?

Well I got my Mesa led tail lights today. I dry fitted them in a old water jug I had. It looks like a 4 3/8" hole for a tight fit. I cant seem to find this size hole saw at my local lowes so it looks like I am going to go with a 4 1/4" saw and file it to fit. Everything i have read says to use a 4 1/2" saw but that seems like it will be a loose fit. Any input on this would be good before I go cutting my tub tomorrow. I also heard the drill bit on the hole saw will tend to "slop up" the hole and cause a little bit bigger hole than advertised.
Here is the dry fit

just tried 4 1/2" hole in a box. Seems to be a good fit. Its not as tight as the 4 3/8 hole but i think that the 4.5" hole will transfer less vibes to the light with the looser fit maybe leading to a longer life of the light

The grommet calls for a 4.56-4.47" hole

i have to say, i really like how you have paid attention to the small stuff. it's not always as much fun as a lift or big tires, but it's all necessary for the overall build. it is also satisfying to get a lot of small stuff done while waiting to do the big stuff.
great lookin jeep!!

oh yeah, i may have missed it the explanation, but originally you bought the JKS BMML and then i saw you got the brown dog MML. did you not care for the MML spacer?

Thanks...No I decided to go with a whole new motor mount instead. Those extension bolts worried me(I think I have OCD) so I just went with new mounts.

haha...fair enough. in the end, that which your motor is attached to should not be something that worries you.
on a side note, a friend of mine runs the JKS BMML and he has no problems with it at all. there is definitely nothing wrong with a whole new unit though.

Well I did it I cut two 4.5" holes in my tub. Install was easy with the hole saw. I used the EP26 flasher and in seems to work great except for when i try to use my selectable back up light switch in the on postion for reverse gear the lights seem to stay on even when not in reverse? Not sure why that is but anyway here it is.
