Let me re-iterate that i want a SUSPENSION LIFT not a body lift, or spacers, or anything like that. I'm just trying to go for the CORRECT way to lift this Jeep on some 33x13.5 Mickey Thompson R 20's... Yes, they were right. 20's. I don't care about cheap lift. I just want something that is smooth and won't be bouncy/rough on the highway like most lifted vehicles are. 35's will cost alot to do correctly so I'm leaning more towards 33's. And I've even got enough money to do SYE or extended driveline, ect... No budge here.

**not saying that Body lifts are an incorrect way to lift a vehicle... I had to reread what I wrote to catch that. So I meant to say the perfect way to lift on a suspension kit... IE what doesn't come with most kits that I'll need to get***

I understand you want a suspension lift, but let me explain that a BB w/ a body lift doesn't decrease how the jeep rides. No one would recommend it if it made the jeep ride like ****. The shocks are what will determine ride quality, not what coils are underneath it. Using the recommended set ups is a correct way to lift it, and an inexpensive one.

If you want a suspension lift what is the price range you are willing to spend, that will let us figure out what to offer up idea wise.

sorry to anyone who misunderstood my post as ridicule it was merrily joking not meaning to judge..

other topics i love the war the car on the bottom of the 1st page looks and that is very inexpensive. To the OP the guys here know their stuff i would listen to them for best ride quality and part quality in your price range.

Your profile says you've got a 3" Black Diamond lift? Am I missing something here...

If you want to clear 33's with just a suspension lift, you're looking at a 3" suspension lift... pick one.

Rusty's, Black Diamond, Full Traction Economy all come to mind as the least expensive.

I've always heard negative things about BL.. I thought coils did help. Thanks for the help, I'm still a noob with lifting.

Precisely, I'm not into the gap in between.

Someone asked what my price range was.... I don't have one. doesn't matter how expensive it is, as long as it's not bumpy/rough.

No you aren't missing anything, the vehicle I'm picking up this weekend has a black diamond lift. It's in Florida. here is a pic. Owner states it rides a lil rough but not too bad. Time will tell how I think it rides. But just in case worse scenario I wanted to know what suspension is the least bumpiest/rough.

The problem with those is they often have stiffer shocks, typically why their prices are cheaper. I have OME shocks and would recommend those if you are looking for the best on road and off road ride.

Nice looking Jeep.Just get some OME shocks and be done. It's the shocks that make it ride rough, not the coils.

Adding a BL isn't an incorrect way to lift a Jeep. Although if it's over 2 inches then I may question it.

I have a four inch suspension lift (SkyJacker) and I can fit 33's nicely. I have thought about a 1 inch BL but I don't really need it. And if it's just a mall crawler why are you so bent on a suspension lift? I mean they are nice and all but if you're only doing light wheeling then why shell out all the extra cash. But it is your Jeep after all so get what you want so you don't regret it. Hydro shocks will ride nicely on the road in comparison to Nitro. Also get an All-terrain tire if it's a DD. You don't need one that aggressive. I have the BFG Mud Terrains on my DD that is also for wheeling and they perform nice on and off road and wear well too. But I just don't like the tread of the AT's. (It's a looks thing...good tires though.) Chrome rims may look nice but if you live somewhere that has harsh winters they will rust quicker. I have Aluminum and they stay good with some washing and polishing and are just as shiny. Black rims don't look bad either on some Jeeps.

I'm hoping some of what I said made sense...I typed it in a hurry.

Good luck though and have fun with your Jeep.

If its already got a lift that will be fine, if the ride quality isn't what you like all you'll need to do is buy new shocks. The top three around here are Skyjacker Hydros, Rubicon Express Monotubes, and Old Man Emu Nitrochargers. Thats the order they are in price and arguably in quality.

Gotcha. Yup, just get a set of Old Man Emu shocks for a 3" lift and it'll ride great... as long as the lift was installed correctly.

Thanks for input dually noted. I didn't mean that BL was a wrong way to lift, I edited that post. TY

dang you are the third person to recommend OME shocks. What I've gather for my DD use and mall crawling (lol) is that the suspension lift kit doesn't really matter which one I have as that doesn't have anything to do with the ride being rough/bouncy but that the shocks are the colprit. And of course the tires but even a noob like me knew that
Anywho, thanks fellas.
