02 TJ Sport "bucks" in 2nd-3rd gear

I have a 2002 4cyl Jeep Wrangler Sport with about 108XXX miles. Yesterday my check engine light went on right as I started my jeep. It drove fine all day yesterday and mostly today (probably a total of 2-3 driving hours) and out of no where it started bucking in 3rd gear as I was approaching 2200 RPM. I slowed down and downshifted into 2nd and that made it to about 2600 RPM before bucking. I pulled over and turned the car off for a few minutes, then back on and drove home carefully (about 1-2 miles). Is it a misfire of some sort? I don't have access to a code reader as I'm at school and I don't think it'll survive the ride home the was it rode today. Any idea what might be wrong?

Drawing more fuel than the fuel system can deliver. Maybe a fuel filter, or low fuel pressure.

That's my guess.... next.
