I was wondering what you guys that actually do the math are getting for fuel mileage using our current alcohol based fuels.

I am averaging about 15 mpg, but I generally keep it under 60. CJ's aren't exactly the most streamlined vehicle on the road, and big ol' mud tires don't help. 10% ethanol (E10) will affect your mileage, but by only a few percent. E85 is another story. My engine will run E85, but I see no reason to try.

There has got to be a few more AMC - V8s out there. I will bet a dime 360s and 401s do just as well.

If your looking for good mpg sell the jeep and don't look back. This is not a fuel friendly mode of travel. I never cared much about mpg's. Its all about being in a jeep to me.

Best quote of the year "I don't drive a Jeep for the fuel mileage"
