When your primary repair tools include zip ties, hammer, duct tape, and a gerber tool.

Or when you leave a tool kit with small repair items stashed under one of the seats.

When you get out somewhere and leave the keys in it with no top or doors on,because you know no one else could start it , much less find a gear to drive away in.

Also keep this in mind if you ever have to take your CJ into a repair/muffler/alignment shop. I didn't think to tell them it was a 3spd, he put it in "first" and almost ended up back on the street..

Basically I screwed up! Just got complacent and took my eyes off the trail for a second. Hadn't aired down and was in two wheel drive. The hill was not steep at all and I didn't give it a second thought, it got a little loose and the back end started to pass me! When the rear end slipped into the ditch, the front was quick to follow. We were both ok (it was kind of a slow motion tip) not that time compression stuff, just a real casual slow tip. We winched it back on all fours, locked it in 4low and drove out. I had never limited out on quail before, and the day was great, so we hunted for a few more hours then drove her home!! (limited out on birds also, so the day wasn't that bad!)

I can do one better....

2 years ago when the wife's $40k BMW and my Jk with about $50k invested sat outside while my $500 '65 Scout 80 and my $1,200 CJ7 sat inside. That wouldn't even buy tires for the JK!

Honest officer, I wasn't trying to bunny hop the Jeep in traffic. It stalled in 2nd so I tried to pop the clutch!

When you forget and leave the window down in winter time and have ice on the floorboard the next morning and you still drive it even though it never gets hot enough in the cj to melt it.
