YJ windsheild swap Details please.

Just picked up another Jeep this week, (New thread to follow, just look for the "Great Pumpkin" cheap buildup) and it needs a windsheild. I found one locally on a YJ a kid is parting out. The frame is good and has all wiper hardware. Would need cowl seal and glass is cracked. Couple of questions. 1- Will the CJ glass fit the frame. If so which glass seal do I use?
2- What cowl seal do I use, CJ or YJ one?
3- I know it needs the duct opening cuts for deforster. Where? Just use old frame and measure and cut? Anything to watch for?
4- Can or how do you wire the YJ motor to the CJ wiper switch?

Thanks for the input in advance.

1. No different shape. YJ glass seal uses a lock, CJ doesn't
2. I think they are interchangeable, only difference is that the CJ seal has defroster holes in it.
3. Even if you cut the holes the defroster wont work because there are no plugs to fit into the YJ wiper access holes.
4. I don't know

1- Been answered already
2-Use the CJ one or you'll have to cut holes in the YJ one and it will be more prone to leaks.
3-Yes, use the old one as a guide and as mentioned, you'll need to rivet some sheet metal over the large access holes used to get to the wiper linkages in the YJ frame.
4-It is doable but I couldn't find a YJ wiring diagram that had the same color wires as the motor I had (even though it was supposedly the same year). Instead, I pulled both wiper motors out and swapped the short arms that rotate on the shaft of the motor and attach to the wiper linkage. Shaft size and splines of the two motors are the same so once the arm was swapped I installed the CJ moptor in the YJ frame and all the YJ linkages can remain as they are.
