Wont start

81, CJ5, 258. It ran great when I parked it last.

I swapped out the dash and all the gauges. Gutted the heater unit. I put a valve cover on it. Installed a Heatercraft set up. Now it wont start.

Today I read allot of stuff about the Ignition module and decided to swap it out. I put a new coil in too. No change at all. It turns over strong and cranks the engine but it wont fire up. Im thinking a messed up some wiring but I have no idea what I could have done.

Any help?

Gonna need a helper or a remote start button. Turn the key on and check for volts at the coil

Use a jumper wire from the POS(+) side of the battery to the POS(+) side of the coil.
See if it starts now----
Don't run it to long-
Pull jumper to 'kill' engine.

Put the jumper on and then try to start it with the key right? Is that what you are suggesting? Sorry, not allot of experience here.

OK I put the jumper on and it turned but it was just the starter. I took the plastic ring off of the coil when I jumped it. What about the green wire? That needs to be on there too no? It sounded closer to starting without the jumper. The engine is cranking. I confirmed with my tester that with the key on, I have nothing at the positive side of the coil.
